Coolum Beach is a beachside town on the North Shore of the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia and is also the beach around which the town is based. The name is derived from the local Aboriginal word gulum or kulum, meaning "blunt" or "headless", referring to the shape of Mount Coolum, which has no peak. Mount Coolum dominates the landscape, and can be seen from most of Coolum. A half hour bush walk winds its way up Mount Coolum.

Coolum Beach is a popular day trip and holiday destination. The town is focused around the beach which is patrolled by life savers and offers swimming and surfing. Parks, a boardwalk, esplanade shops, and the surf life saver club surround the beach. Over the last five years Coolum Beach has seen tasteful development, with new buildings for retail business and holiday apartments, however we haven't lost what we think is the small town, sleepy perhaps, but not an over commercialised destination that such a beautiful coastline brings upon itself.

We look forward to bringing you information on the North Shore from Twin Waters, through Mudjimba, Marcoola, Mt Coolum, Yaroomba, Coolum Beach to Peregian Beach and Noosa.  But thats only the beach side, as from any of these beautiful parts of the North Shore of the Sunshine Coast you can work your way inland to so many more attractions that make staying in Coolum Beach or the surrounding areas perfect.

Did we mention that the Sunshine Coast Airport is actually located on the North Shore so no more waiting hours for airport transfers, nope, you land, collect your luggage and can possibly be in the water surfing, swimming, snorkeling, or sunbaking and enjoying the lovelies our golden sands attract within an hour.  We are located at the most beautiful and best part of the Sunshine Coast, the best part of Queensland and Australia.
